• *As we source our items in NY, our vintage gold jewelry is primarily stamped with "K after." We use an X-ray metal component analyzer to inspect all products, ensuring that the purity is equal to or greater than the stamp indicates.
• *"K" stands for Karat, which expresses the purity of gold as a weight ratio in 24 parts. The closer the number is to 24, the higher the purity of the gold (K24 is almost pure gold with 99.99% purity). While higher purity increases the value of the gold, it also makes it softer and more susceptible to damage, making it unsuitable for jewelry making. By mixing other metals (alloys) to create 18K or 14K alloys, it gains the robust durability suitable for practical use.
