• *Our vintage gold jewelry is generally stamped with "K" after the number, as it is purchased in NY. All items are inspected using an X-ray metal component analysis device to confirm that the purity is higher than the stamped purity.
• * "K" stands for karat, representing the purity of gold as a weight ratio in 24ths. The closer the number is to 24, the higher the purity of the gold. (K24 is almost pure gold with a purity of 99.99%). While higher purity increases the value of gold, it is softer and more easily scratched, making it unsuitable for jewelry processing. By mixing it with other metals (alloying metals) to create 18K or 14K alloys, it gains the robustness suitable for practical use.
