• *Since our vintage gold jewelry is sourced in NY, it generally has an "at K" hallmark. All products are inspected using an X-ray metal component analysis device to confirm that the purity is higher than or equal to the hallmark.
• *"K" stands for Karat, which expresses the purity of gold as a 24-part weight ratio. The closer the number is to 24, the higher the purity of the gold (K24 is almost pure gold with 99.99% purity). While higher purity increases gold's value, it also makes it softer and more prone to damage, making it unsuitable for jewelry processing. By mixing other metals (alloys) to create 18K or 14K alloys, it gains the robust practicality needed. Typically, silver and copper are mixed in as "wari-gane" (alloying metal), but for colored gold, palladium, platinum, nickel, iron, aluminum, etc., may also be included.
