LEGIER is a jewelry brand launched in 2015 by art historian and curator Legier Biederman. The brand's roots lie in mid-century art set in California. Using natural stones with distorted expressions that express the sublime state of nature, the brand produces sharp and sophisticated jewelry that evokes the "hard edge" and "postminimalism" expressions that represent the mid-century art world. The brand's designs are heavily influenced by the sensibility of "Double Negative," a representative piece of land art released by artist Michael Heizer in 1970, and are characterized by a unique and delicate balance of designs that combine opposing elements that are originally divided, such as organic yet inorganic, abstract yet concrete, feminine yet masculine. The collection is produced in collaboration with a family-run business in Los Angeles.
