Founded in Philadelphia, USA in 1978. A prestigious American shirt manufacturer, it is one of the shirt manufacturers that are particular about producing "MADE IN USA" shirts. They are particular about their fine artistic sewing technique of 20 stitches per inch using a single needle, and about the materials they use, carefully selecting the highest quality Supima cotton from the US and Giza cotton from Egypt. Many people trust the traditional techniques passed down by skilled craftsmen, and their customers include the long-established department store "Saks Fifth Avenue" and many other select shops. In recent years, they have also become a capable factory that handles OEMs for "BAND OF OUTSIDERS" and "THOM BROWNE". GITMAN VINTAGE is a heritage line by the Gitman Brothers that was launched in 2009. The fabrics, including those currently available, are produced from precious deadstock fabrics based on the line book from the late 70s to early 80s. The shirts are also made with authentic details such as double track stitching, chalk buttons, and locker loops on the back, and all collections come with the original green label from 1978.
